Frequently Asked Questions
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT REPORTING IS
MONDAY, JULY 7, 2025!
Who can report?
A credit union or league employee and/or volunteers may report qualifying presentations made to groups of five or more. Presentations can be done in a traditional classroom setting or a virtual platform. Qualifying presenters can work with church or community groups, such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, CU employees, or other organizations. Only one report should be submitted per credit union, totaling all presentations completed.
Types of presentations that qualify:
Any presentation that promotes financial literacy or the credit union movement qualifies. Qualifying presentations can be conducted on these and other consumer and financial topics:
- Budgeting Careers & Income
- Credit
- Fraud
- Saving & Investments
- Reality Fairs
- Checking & Money Management
- CUs vs Banks
- Risk Management
- Needs vs. Wants
- Webinars
Types of presentations do not qualify:
Although important, presentations that promote the products of a specific credit union or service, such as youth savings clubs or teen programs, do not qualify. Recorded presentations do not qualify. Visits to gather deposits from in-school branches also do not qualify. If there are questions related to whether your presentation would qualify, please email CUFEN.
How to report multiple presentations to the same group of people:
To avoid counting the attendees multiple times, you should count the first list of attendees as usual and report subsequent presentations to the same group with zero attendees. By following this simple procedure, you will be credited for the correct number of presentations and the correct number of students addressed. For example, in a series of seven presentations to the same 20 attendees: by reporting the number of attendees on the first presentation only, you will be credited for all seven presentations reaching 20 attendees, not seven presentations reaching 140 attendees.
How to report for Reality Fairs:
If one credit union is hosting the reality fair, that credit union should count the presentations and students reached. If there are other credit union’s volunteering at the hosted credit union’s fair, they should NOT count the students or presentations.
If there is a fair being jointly hosted through a league for example, then the hosting credit union’s should split the number of students impacted. Each credit union can account for the same number of presentations/fairs though.
When to report presentations:
The reporting process has been simplified and we will be gathering total numbers for students (ages 0-18) reached, adults (ages 19+) reached, and total of presentations for each. Awards will be granted by asset size. A biannual reporting process will run from July 1st to December 31st and January 1st to June 30th.
We strongly encourage you to keep track of your and your teams’ presentations internally within your credit union. Please do not solely rely on the CUFEN reporting platform. Every credit union tracks, records, and reports information to their Board of Directors or others in the organization differently. CUFEN reserves the right to periodically audit and request presentation verification to ensure accuracy and consistency.
